Hi,

I was watching this guy install these Torx type screws onto a Lincoln Town Car Headlights for Theft Deterent. On this car the headlights a stolen in NYC really easy. They simply pop the hood, twist some hand tight brackets and you can pop the lights out in seconds.

This guy put some screws right into the lights securing the lights on the car body cross bar into the headlight. You can only remove it with a special tool. I was thinking about doing the same with my HID's. I looked at my car and can see that this can be done. The only downside, is that you will have 2 screws that go into the back of the headlight and if a thief tries to steal your HID's the headlight will have a much harder time prying the headlight off.

I don't have any picture yet because I just thought about posting this here but will take some shots of the screws in the Lincoln to show you guys.

 

Doesn't really help that much when most theives just break the brackets themselves to steal the maxima lights.

 

Dont try to do that... even though yes it would prevent them for about 10 more seconds, it will cause your car more damage and in the end will cost you money. If the thieves are about to steal your lights, trust me they dont scope out the theft deterent first, they just start prying, so the harder they have to pry the more damage to the fender/hood/bumper/anything connected to the lights

Thats just IMO.
