HID Bulb which one?

Which Bulb do we use on our 2003 HID's (D2R or D2S bulb)? Can we change them to a different brightness like the 7100k?

if you notice on the front of the headlights it says: D2R

other people have said the other bulb causes to much glare but it does work as well with a little modification to it i believe.

i know there are hundreds of ppl that will disagree, but you should never go higher then 4100k in terms of HID capsules... you loose lumens the higher you go, and u get an ugly blueish tint while driving instead of white... if u want that extreme blue, its all on you, but i reccommend 4100...

Here wo go again

Its a matter of personal pereference, you can get whatever you want. I personlly would never go above 6500K. Even though I have 6000K's the light output is still more then 2x then that of halogen.
4100-4300K is what EVERY oem car is equipped with.
I belive the lumes output is 3400 for 4100-4300K
6000K's put out I think it was 2600K and yes it is slightly dimmer.

I personally say if you want looks, get 6000K's. They still give out quite a bit of light. 4100K's still have some color (light bluish) Projectors are my favorite though. You can stay at 4100-4300K to maintain the lumens output BUT you still have that nice bluish/purple color at the cutoff so they still look sick.
jattmax your the 1st person Ive heard say they dont like they bluish/purple tine on 6000K's. They are anything but ugly but to each his own.

HitManSE, parhaps I didnt write my post clearly, but what I meant was, the look of the car "oncoming" with that purple hue, i totally dig that, but when driving the car and seeing bluish/purple lighting up the whole road, thats what I don't dig... I'm a hardcore lighting fanatic, therefor thas y I go for 4100k, and retrofit proj's into all my cars... but yeah everyone has their own opinions on lighting and I totally respect that, I was just giving my view...

Alright, that makes more sense. I thought you were refering to the oncoming color. I have to say, in a way I kinda agree with that. Id rather have the color of 4100-4300K lighting up the road but still keep that bluish/purple color for oncoming. Thats why I like projectors so much, you get the best of both lumens output & color.

any of you with higher k bulbs getting the DDE's?

if so, did you consider that anything above 4300k
will not fare well with the blue hue from the DDE's?
I mean different colors up front- all the different
colors around the max will look like a rainbow

Igor's fogs will match well though
