Help! H&R Wheel Spacer Install/Advise

Got 20mm spacers to go on the back to help kick out the rear stock 17's. I am planning to install them today. Am I asking for a Long day or is it pretty easy? I am pretty sure I will need to install new studs (provided), but have never done this before. I can get my way around the garage, but is this a job for a shop? I get a little weird about messing with the wheels.

Any help, advise or write up's with this is appreciated!!

Thanks!

Did you install them yet? I also have a 20mm ones to go on front. Was it difficult to take the studs out?

Anyone tried installing these? The way I understand is to remove the caliper assembly by removing 2 bolts and bang the studs out using WD40 liberally if necessary. Is there more to it than this?

Well I have change studs before, all you have to do is hammer the old one out and hammer(you can also add some washer and use impact gun) the new one in COMPLETELY ALL AROUND,do not leave any SPACE between the studs and the wheel hub or the studs will come loose and the lugs will come loose also. You know what I mean.

I've done it a few times. After removing the wheel and caliper, you need to remove the center cap that covers the rear hub nut. You remove the rear hub nut and pull the hub off. It helps if you have a person helping you at this point. Have someone hold the hub while you tap the studs out with a hammer. Be very careful not to nick/chip the ABS ring on the rear of the hub(looks like a gear). THen you tap the new studs in and replace the hub. The torque spec for the hub nut is 135 ft/lbs. It isn't that hard to do. Just take your time.

The procedure for the front, I assume, is exactly the same? Taking the hub off is necessary? I'm a bit confused

I don't have spacers on the front, so I can't answer that question. As far as the rears go, yes, hub removal is necessary. The backing plate behind the rear hub assembly makes it a pain in the butt to swap studs while the hub is on. Besides, it's not that hard to do. Pulling off the wheel and caliper is harder than removing the hub. just make sure to torque the hub nut.

Thanks for the help! I was running short on time (leaving on vacation with the fam for New Years) and started on the first one with out any help. Short story is I had very little patients that morning and ended up having a local shop put the studs in for me. Still wish I had taken the time to do it myself, but it is done now. I put the 5 mm ones on the front myself, but think I might take them off. Jury is still out on them, but love the 20mm on the back. Looks the way it should have from the start.
