4 Got to attach Climate control tube back

Does the the flexible black tube connected to back of the right side of the digital climate control unit affect the amount of heat you get from the heater? I forgot to reattach it when installing a stereo and now it seems the heater isn't working as good as before.. I used to turn it up to 75 to get warm/hot air.. Now I only get hot air when i turn it up past 80. So what does this tube do?

it draws cabin air through a small temp probe inside the climatre control unit. The control unit uses the temp measured to automatically adjust the cabin temp.

I will re-attach it once i get time to go to the dealer to pick up some bulbs for the climate control buttons. So i guess since the tube is not attached, it does not sense that the cabin is cold and won't give me enough heat? I guess this makes sense since the tube is left hanging somewhere behind the stereo where it is warm.
