When I bought this SE back in Oct, I knew the sunroof did not open. When the owner was showing it to me, he pressed somewhere on the rail and held the button down, the motor was straining then stopped, so he put the glass back into position. I can tilt the sunroof, but can't slide it open. How do I fix this roof myself wihtout having to take it in for repair?

 

I had the same problem on my old 91 se. Some where in here is a thread about this problem and it has a link to a nissan dealer that has the sun roof rebuild kit for like 60 bucks. And complete instructions. I think the problem is that a spring pops out but i could be wrong. I suggest you do the rebuild.
