I want better lights

If anyone has any info on a way for me to improve my headlights whether it be hid, projector,or bMW lights please let me know whats good. Im sooooo sick of the way my lights look. As of now the best I can think to do is to wait for some e36 lights and put them in with some type of hid kit. I dont know what temp. but I like the purple better than blue hids.

how much money are you willing to spend.. HIDs are quite expensive along with a BMW e36 conversion, are u on a budget? Try different halogen/xenon bulbs first to see if it makes enough of a difference to your taste. I swapped out my stock bulbs for Vision R Xenon Plasma Blue 4500K 110/100W bulbs and am totally satisfied with the change.

I am willing to go as far as 450.00 but thats the limit for now. But tell me where you got those bulbs. I've been scared of those bulbs with over 100w. They cause any problems with the lens or wiring?

look closely at the wattage. its not really 100 watts. it usually means 100w "look". if you really ran 100 watts to your stock wires, they'd be a puddle of goooo within an hour or less.

well they won't melt that fast i don't think. but it WILL eventually fry the wires. stock wattage is 45/65. i wouldn't use those 100 watt bulbs without upgrading your wiring harness. if you want, try the sylvania silverstars. they use stock wattage, and puts out nice clean white light. i'm running them and am happy with it.

well.. they're actually 65/45W but once heated the output will be 110/100W.. i've had thse bulbs since what.. august? and i havent melt my stock wires yet.. i'll take pics and let u guys see how bright these bulbs are. I've also got a pair of SiJ "Shining Chrome High Power Halogen Lamp System" 55W > 85W.. pretty damn blinding as well, blue tint glass but hyper white light. Gotta love japanese lighting... as for the store.. its a small japanese shop near my home, sells alot of anime / car parts. i have never heard of these brands before ( lol probably because these are JAPANESE only parts imported here ) but they do have alot of JDM honda stuff

One thing I was "researching" on the other day, was how a LOT of Mitsubishi Diamante owners (talking about the 1st gen (92-96) Mitsubishi Diamantes) were 'retrofitting' E36 headlights to their car with virtually NO body mods except to take the light, mount it upside down, and then left side on the right, right side on the left.

So, in other words, if they looked like this:

|_l_| |_r_|
___ ___
they will go in like this:

|_r_| |_l_|

Reason I mention this, was because maybe you could use a Diamonte headlight... something nobody has done.

chris91se, awsm66, and I saw a couple Diamantes like that at NOPI this year and it did fit pretty well

that might look kinda cool if you put some diamante lights on the max, might have to do a little modding because of the angle on the edges, but it's a similar size

it makes me wonder... if they are swapping their lights out, why would anyone want to put those in?

Well depends on if they are projectors or not. Stock 2nd gen Diamante lights had high and low beam as seperate lights, but also had the frosted glass with ridges to control light pattern, similar to stock 3rd gen max headlights. If Diamante folks are switching their lights to E36 lights, its probably because... 1) They could count it as a mod... (different than stock)
2) The light output from the E36 is better than stock Mistsu
3) E36 lights are more readily available, and upgradeable...

Just my $.02
