so i took my max in to get the evap canister replaced,

just for Sh@#s and giggles i wanted to double check if they could replace hte cracked passenger fog light assembly....

well the stealer called me back and told me it was an outside impact crack and that the 1 foglight costs $388 to replace....

i told him i could get the whole kit ONLINE for less then 200, and he didnt believe me

its amazing how much markup they have on parts

i never go to dealerships anymore unless its a problem that can be solved by warranty.

once they wanted to charge 90 bukcs to replace a strip lug nut and the screw...
they whole thing only costs 4 buks

That is one slow a$$ install. It took me less than 30 minutes to install "both" lenses from the kit I bought from DaveB for about $180.

I also discovered my passenger fog lamp is has a crack in it. Seems like many on the org are looking for the same side. The dealership prices are way out of line and the lowest I was quoted was $115 at courtesy. If anyone knows of better pricing please let me know.

That's crazy, just buy it over the internet and install it yourself. Or go to a for sale forum of 5th gen parts here.

When I was havin my recall done the other day, the mechanic came out and told some poor chap that he had a corner bulb out and that its "only $16 to replace" thats absurd: I can but a 2 pack for $1.99, and it takes all ove 30 seconds to replace it! I felt bad for the guy. I should open my own "discount Nissan basic services" I'd make a fortune!

wow...you guys are gettin ripped off even buyin from online...just goto a local body or mechanic shop who has an account with a local dealer...like my dads shop and just buy it at cost...i bought the entire foglight assembly+switches+relay for less then $130 wtih my dads shop discount...i get everything for about 30-40% off parts since my dad knows alot of the dealerships and made good friends with them too
