strange water flowing sound

almost on a regular basis, shortly after i start my car, and i'm sitting there in park, i hear what sounds like water flowing under the hook, like the sound is comming from the engine compartment. when i rev the engine slightly it gets even lounder. after i've driven the car the sound stops. this is very odd to me, and i'm a little concerned, however the car runs great. anyone have any ideas on what the sound could be, or is it normal? by the way its a 92 SE. THANKS

Look at recent posts. It's an air pocket in your heater core caused by recent cooling service (thermostat, water pump, flush and fill). You need to bleed the air bubbles out of the heater core because the heater core is the highest point in the cooling system.
Look at poor heater performance on this link it will help. http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb...=1989&tsb=none

Mine's a '92, and while I don't have the water flowing sound, I just installed a block heater and did a flush and fill, and I'll tell you, it's a major pain in the as5 trying to get all the air out of the system. I have no idea why they even have that bleed bolt, as it seems to do squat. I've owned several Honda's, a Grand Cherokee, and a Grand Caravan, none of which had a bleed bolt, and I don't recall having any trouble doing a flush and fill on them....

yeah....i've never had airlock problems on any of my previous cars either...after doing the "home" version of the TSb method, my heating is much much better then what i started out with...but it only heats a little after the temp guage gets to the middle.

oh well...i'm moving to texas tomorrow...i wont need a lotta heat there hopefully!!

You'll need some....I moved here from Colorado (don't ask) and thought I wouldn't need it either. No below zero stuff, but it does get cold

No, but you'll find out if your A/C is up to the task...
