Matt's Product of the Week- reinforced RSB Links!!!
These are some crappy pics of the first one I made.
You'll notice there are two different heim joints on there... For the "production units," I've ordered a female joint with a stud in it- basically a blend between the two. Unfortunately I didn't have any on hand when I made this piece. I've ordered some and they should be here by Friday.. I'll clean it up and post more pics then, but you can see what this part amounts to.
It will include the angle iron piece and the self-tapping screws that go into the frame rail. just use a hacksaw, grinder, whatever to cut off the old one, then install this one by drilling two small holes into the frame rail and screw the self-tapping screws in and it's mounted! If you wish, you can take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it onto the frame.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about that though, as I've had the same thing holding my RSB links on the car for two years now and no problems.
Anyway, here's the pics. Again, please excuse the old-school Heim.. it's the only female one I had in the garage at the time.

So who wants 'em? Price is $40 + ship for the set (both sides)

I don't see zinc plating being a corrosion problem.

That's okay...
It's all 3/8" fine thread. wont' cost you but a couple bucks to replace it yourself.
(most of the car is put together with Zinc plated bolts. If the car hasn't fallen apart yet, then you won't have a problem with these)

call it $10 to ship to canada through UPS.. I got raped a big one when I shipped the RSTBs to you guys through USPS..
UPS was around $13, USPS was like $28 for 5-6 day delivery. (the next option was $24 for 5-6 WEEKS)..

how big are the self tapping screws that you use?
I made my own brackets about a year ago and used self tapping screws and grade 8 bolts (2 ea) the drivers side one is still in but the passingers side one is in the trunk for the moment.

used a pair of 1/4-20 screws for the self-tappers.
I've actually had mine on my car for a couple years now with some #10-24 screws, which are considerably smaller than the 1/4" screws I'm using with this kit.. If they held fine, the 1/4-20 are sure to hold.

you are running the ST swaybar though aren't you? I have an Addco and still have stock springs and sturts for now. Puts much more strain on the bolts.
Yes, these are much stronger than the OE links. If they break, I'll replace them.
Many people (almost everyone) that have installed an aftermarket swaybar end up breaking these links sooner or later. The ones I've built are much stronger and shouldn't have the breakage problems that the OE ones do. If they do, then I'll replace them.
(Fyi, that's all said on my website. I just assumed people here would know the purpose since most of us have had problems breaking sway bar links before)

LOL!!
Pretty much!
There's no need to do anything with the fronts... yet. ES makes bushings for them, and the mounts are strong enough, so there's no need to do anything else up front.
