winter and key lock.. strange...

Hi every one..
Looks like I get some of peculiar problems one can come across...
I have 93 SE with 80K miles.. So far running really well..
I live in michigan..(cold... Ohhh)

I was sick of seeing my dirty car.. So I washed it myself last week by spraying water on a cold saturday..

After ward I can unlock my car with key..there seems to some thing and key doesn't move smoothly as it used to..

So I come up with an idea... to spray hot water.. I spray hot water 2 or 3 times.. then I can unlock the car with ease...

Then I drive the car for a while 5 - 10 minutes. Again the same problem shows up... Then I use the hot water .. then I unlock..

Then I thought some lubrication is required.. so I put some grease on the key and unlock lock many times..
But still doesn't help...
Any suggestions.... thanks

Didn't you realize that hot water turns cold and freezes in the cold. Just get some lock de-icer, its only $2 for a little canister you can keep in your pocket.
