**ATTN x-drilled rotors people** need help for cross/drilled rotors maintance!

am i suppose to pre-oil the rotors surface with something? if so what kind of oil i should apply it on the rotors? i know x-drilled rotors have a tendacy to crack and decay over time, i dont' want that to happen to mine. i'm just curious what kind of maintance you guys do for your x-drilled rotors. thx

Woe! Who told you to oil the rotors?? Your pads will just absorb/rub off the oil. Pad absorbing oil = you not stopping. You don't have to do anything to them. Just don't overheat them. Inspect them for cracks. If they do crack, its time for a new set. No maintenance required. You don't change the rotor oil or polish them with wax. You do how ever have to make sure your blinker fluid is filled. But you should know that already. It's in the FAQ.

If you're really worried about them cracking you could check up on cyro treating them.

I'm curious, why didn't you go with just a slotted or a slotted/dimpled rotor instead?

Most rotors come "oiled" just so that they do not rust prior to install. Clean them real well before installing them.

You just have to clean off the rotors with brake cleaner before you install them.

Where can you get the slotted only or slotted dimpled rotors for our cars?
