hey, atleast is not as pathetic as a guy with a 1991 toyota paseo who wants to race my max <sigh> ... now that is pathetic! For 5 days he was saying "My car is a stick shirt so it can beat your car, also it wieghts a lot less" ... I'd give him the weight advantage, but common! Paseo -> 100hp 90tq Maxima -> 195hp 210tq (slightly modded ofcourse :-)) ... after a while a gave up and raced him ... a handicap race ... not even worth the gas I wasted!

I got beat by a 240 5-spd on my autotragic.. Keep your panties on gentlemen, some 4cyl's will prove a fight

 

i dont know how fast the auto max is but never under estimate anybody's car since you never know wat could happen if you race them. But line up wit him and treat him like hes any other kinda car and give it your all... just dont lose cause then were gonna laugh at you and stuff

Being an x-neon owner it depedns on a lot of things. Depending which model that neon may have the stock 150hp motor. My old neon (now my bro's) will keep/beat up many max's out there, but it has a CAI, bored Throtal Body, Head PNP by GUDE, underdrive pulley, hi-flow cat, dual exhaust, and mopar computer. VERY fast off the line, but gotta be carefull not to spin the tires in 1st 2nd and yes 3rd!

If its the 150hp bone stock it may be close, but I'd bet on the max. But dont sleep on Neons, there are plenty out there with 300+ hp... but still love my max more.

 

yeah my mom has an avalon (2003) and i can beat her off the line but when we are going on the highway and hit it, that car will flat out kick my ***. they have a surprising amount of power.

I whooped on a 5spd V-6 Firebird tonite. My friend and I were reving our max's and this firebird from behind revs it too. Then he come up to me ask if I want to run, "Ok I guess.", so we go, I wasnt gonna run on the street that we were on, because I recently got stoped by a cop for racing, so I was really nervous. But he honked three times that he wanted to race, and I actually let him take off, he got stick spinning, and I took him, a car ahead and half by the time it was over. We ran twice, both victorys for me, hahahah, that guy left with his head done. SUCKER got smoked by a mom car.

 

meet at a redlight and tell him u gonna give him 5 sec head starts so at least he would have a CHANCE

i got creamed by a porsche C4S saturday nite. completely wasted.
other than that, i think you should have an edge over a neon. like it was previously said, race it like a real race.
