Blue Gauge and the Bulbs within.
Blue Gauge and the Bulbs within.
Today I replaced the 5 194 bulbs in my gauge with blue leds. And to go with my new color i want to change the smaller lights like CEL and Brakes. What bulbs fit into those spaces?
those arent bulbs, i mean a bulb lights them up, but the plastic piece itself is the color, like orange for the cel and red for the brakes and green for the blinkers. as far as changing them i dont know how, ive seen pics here of some guy with blue blinkers in the dash
I will take some pictures tonight. I am really happy with the way they turned out, but it is just that the other lights take away from the blueness. Also for some reason my cruize control light isnt going on, the fuction still works but no light. Is it possible for that light to burn out?
wow that looks pretty good... did you paint your needles or no? I just put my black gauges back in and i broke the damn bezel. wonder how much a new one is gonna run me. I'll post pics of the blue once i get the led bulbs in this week.
Go Here for instructions on how to do it. Basically if you are just changing the bulbs only do up to step 8. Now under step 8 is a pic of the back of the gauge, notice the 5 larger red plug looking things. Those twist out and you replace the bulb with 194 style bulbs. Reverse the instructions to put back together.

194 superbright leds for the gauges, not sure for the control panel. Ask arrafio how he got his signals to be blue. They look awesome!
I actually was experimenting with a red dry erase sharpie instead of a wet erase one for the needles, and I think the wet erase is better looking during the day time. The blue naturally comes through in the night. I may in the future get a red intelliglow needle kit to compliment the blue gauges. Remember that I also have the gauge rings which help with the overall look imho. (paradoxsystems.com or phsinvent on ebay)
good luck.
