Have you replaced your camshaft position sensor? >>>

I just replaced mine and I wanted to get some feedback. I was wondering if the cps caused your car to stall?

My problem: My CEL came on a few months ago (on and off) and the car eventually started stalling every now and then. I took it to the dealer and had them diagnose it and this is what they told me I needed:

cam sensor - just replaced
knock sensor - waiting to do this
tuneup - I changed the plugs last week (NGK copper), doing fuel filter this weekend
clean throttle body - done

Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

When one of my cam sensors went bad, it didn't cause my car to stall. It just caused not to start, it would crank but not start. Dealer replaced it under warranty.

So your car wouldn't start at all? I guess maybe my sensor was just weak and that would cause the stall problem. I changed mine tonight, so I guess I'll find out soon if I fixed the problem

My car wouldn't start and it would stall when I was sitting at a light. And so I'd be stuck at an intersection and the car wouldn't start sometimes for like five minutes.

Pretty embarrassing. A new CPS fixed the problem.

My friend just got this code a few weeks ago, not sure wheather it was a camshaft or crankshaft position sensor code. Anyway, the weird thing is that it's the oil pressure sending unit that is broken. The sensor that plugs in by the oil pan. Just a thought.

If you unplug the oil pressure switch it won't throw a code.

He hit a rock or something cause the leads on the sensor were completely torn off. Only one lead was left and the sensor was cracked. We replaced it and the code went away.

Odd... when I installed my oil pressure gauge, I removed the stock one and got no codes. I don't think there is even a ecu code mention anything to the oil presure switch.

That's the same thing that happened to me. I asked the Nissan service manager about it while I was buying the sensor and he didn't think the CPS would cause the problem. That really got me worried, but I'm pretty confident its fixed now. The best thing is that I have done all this work myself and probably saved over $800...Thanks to the org of course. I guess its time to make a donation

Are you sure? When we were installing a SC there were 2 perpendicular, metal prongs on the sensor. Then the rubber boot connector thing went onto those.
