Service Engine Soon on at 66k ?

Hey Guys,
Today i was driving and I noticed the S.E.S light came on, my car is a 99SE with 66k on it. Could this just be because Its time for the scheduled tune-up?

I have to drive to atlanta from charlotte (400miles rougly) will this be a problem? I have absolutly no problems from the car, its been perfect thats why im thinking its just time for the scheduled tune-up...

but i decided to ask the pros! THANKS GUYS!

If you read the sticky posts on top you'd have your solution. READ THEM! pull the code, see what it means, asses the situation. Blinking CEL is bad, but one that stays may not be so serious.

the CEL doesnt come on for no reason, like "you need a tune up"
there must be somthing more wrong than that.
good luck

Thanks Tyrexx,
thats what I thought. And like I said, I tried to look for a SES , went through stickies.. still don't see anything on CEL. I see MIL's but thats different. it would prolly help if I could search but oh well... thanks for your suggestion though, anyone else? before the close this thread for redundancy.. heh

Is there a difference between the "Check engine light" and the "Service engine soon" ?

or are they the same light. excuse me for being an idiot. <--me

We're all friendly ppl...just that some of us get a little frustrated when there are stickies laying around...

...but you're new and the search doesnt work so its ok

Most likely a tune up would be nice for a car at about 60000 miles. Check the stickies and do the shi.t yourself rather than pay others to do it.

Welcome!
