So long my fellow 4 generationers!

After a long and lengthy decision I decided to sell my Maxima and get myelf a BMW. I was going to purchase one from my girlfriends boss but when I told my friend about it, he jumped right on it (went behind my back) and offered him cash for it. Anyway, not being discouraged I found an even nicer 328i in this very sexy metallic silver color, leather, and full power. I must say I really love this car. I just wanted to part my way with you guys here and say thanks for all the input and advice that you shared with me. I couldnt have found a better place to share stories, advice and car tips. Best of luck to all of you! Peace!

Ya, its all good. He's no friend of mine anymore. That really ****ed me off when he called and said he was thinking about maybe buying it. I thought he was kidding until I called the guy and said I was ready to do the trade. He then tells me that he just sold it to "your buddy."

Anyway, I got a 1994 328i. I dont have the specs with me but one could easily do a search. I am really happy with it. I do miss my Max though. I had a lot of fun with it...

I think you need to change your text to: "friend". As they clearly aren't.

Have fun with your new wheels!

Are you sure it's a 328? I can't find anything on a 1994 328.

Are you SURE those are the only numbers? I believe there was also an I6 version..

I believe the 325/328 I6 had the 2.5L with VERY similar stock numbers as a Max..190HP/20*FT-LBS torque..

Nice buy! It is certainly a good upgrade

Those numbers are from a 318 BMW, or close to it. Even a 325 is 189hp/181tq. This http://www.123review.com/reviews/bmw...ary_specs.html is the only place with ANYTHING about a 328 and the info it has is either wrong or from another continent.

According to BMWworld.com, the first year of the 328 was 1996 and it has 190hp and 207ftlbs torque. Either you got a really good deal (paying for a 94 but getting at least a 96) or you might want to check out the ID plate...

Couple of yrs ago I almost got one of those...It was a 1996. The engine is an inline 6 cyl 2.8. There is something about those cars: They just stick to the road and they are nice and smooth. I drove the 96 328 ,and was just pure fun to drive it and open it ... Expect to empty your pockets if you need service or parts , but I personally like the older models than the newer ones and I think that the older models are more reliable. I bet that you ll love the car, (I know that I would). Look into the Bavarian auto catalog ( Company located in New Hampshire) .They may even have a web site. Again, good luck and enjoy your new ride.

real facts

here's a site that everyone needs!!

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ex.cfm/id/2117

i'm looking at a 97 328ia, beautiful car!!! exact specs as the maxima, just 3 more tourque. it's slated as a 15.6 for the 1/4 mile, just under the 15.3 that i'm easily getting in my 95 gxe. also similar top speed: i hit 140mph(224km/h) guaranteed, but that's about it. same with the bimmer, they say about 3 mph more...

here's another great site: car specs... lot's of them... a must add to the favorites!!

enjoy,

Jerry, your really starting to sound like you didn't buy the car. And you already sound like you don't care. 2.5 vs. 2.8L is a rather significant difference.

It was a typo. Not that I didnt know if I had a 328 or 325. I have a 325 and I am working on some pics just as soon as I get the correct USB cable. I can take a pic of it with my phone camera but those are pretty sh!ty pictures.

Anyway, I didnt get the car for power. I got it for the look and the drive. As someone mentioned before, the ride and handling in these cars is fantastic. Especially when the car has been taken care of. I am happy with it, believe it or not.
