Keyless Entry on '96 SE

Can a stock keyless entry be installed into one that does not have keyless entry or alarm? If not, any suggestions...

i know I could just get an aftermarket alarm but All I want is keyless entry and surely I can find that much cheaper then an entire alarm system.

Need suggestions...

Usually the Se models come equipped with keyless entry from the factory. If you have a GXE 5 speed you cannot use keyless entry remote. The cars that came equipped with keyless entry have in the trunk a little box (remote entry module). If you do have that module but you don t have the key fob ,all you have to do is get one or two (keyfobs) and reprogram it for your car. The whole system is actually quite easy.
The keyless entry module is hidden in the trunk ,on passanger side, not too far from the jack location. It has some wires that enters it (I think 2 or 3 sets ). So ,for all of you...If that module is there you are in good shape. Let me know ,and if you need help to program the keyfobs, I ll help you.

I have a 96 SE and I had the wires and plugs, but not the keyless entry module. I paid about $90 from an ebay seller for the keyless entry, alarm, trunk release actuator, and the extra relays. It seems to work really well for both keyless and alarm, and wasn't too bad to install. I doubt this alarm works as well as the vipers or whatever, but I wasn't too worried about that (I live in IN) and more wanted the keyless and trunk. The guy gave me a lot of help over the phone. I got it from Basstronics. Let me know if you have any questions.
