High Idle at cold start then stabilizes
High Idle at cold start then stabilizes
I hit this list before to do a bad injector, after that I've had a problem with the high cold idle. I took the AAC valve off and cleaned it and have also sprayed into the opening with the hose off several times with cleaner. I figure its the valve because if I hit the defrost button which also turns on the AC it goes down to the normal speed around 800-1000rpm. I know the AAC valve adjusts when the AC is on to compensate for the load on the compressor. I've checked for other vacuum leaks and such. I did a good job in marking the hoses and torquing the intake down so I don't think its that, but as we all know strange stuff can happen..
Anyone have this problem and what have you done to fix it....it possible withour buying a new AAC valve. When it warms up 2-5 minutes the idle returns to normal with no other problems.
Thank for any help

Well I hate to break the new, especially if you have thought you idle was right on, but 1800 at cold idle is way to high , that means first start up and after the first few dips into the thottle it sits a 1800rpms and then will clam down to 1000 or below a few minutes later , I have a standard 5 speed which makes you pay attention to rpm a little more than automatic
