EZ lube says every 15k
nissan dealer says every 30k
my mechanic says every 45-50

fuel filter is a cheap part and fairly easy to change. i would do it around every 20k-30k depending on when you have time. ez lube just wants you come in more often and waiting anything over 50k is just going to keep you from running it in top condition. i just wish my fuel filter was in the same location as yours.

As far as changing the fuel filter, I would recommend getting a Nissan fuel filter, because they generally last longer than those cheap ones at auto part stores. As far as how often they should be changed, after the first 30K miles, and then the next time at 60K. After 60K, I would change it after every 15K. I ran my 4th gener. to 130,000 miles before I got rid of it, and even at changing at every 15K when the car was up in miles, it was in need of changing. Now, I'm stuck with a 5th gener. where the filter is inside the fuel tank! Nissan is making these cars more difficult for us to work on ourselves! Anybody agree?

yes they are cheap and yes the ones nissan sells are best but these suckers are hard as heck to change. very hard to reach them and the fuel will get all over the place. so i dont want to bother changin it if i dont have to but i got 28k miles right now and seems like i need to change it very soon. thanks

Take out the whole air filter assembly. Once this is out, you'll have plenty of room with your hands in changing it. Those hoses are real hard to remove. I found it easier to cut the OUTPUT hose and just install a new fuel hose. As far as the INPUT hose, just keep twisting it. It will eventually work its way off. Don't forget, also, to relieve the pressure in the fuel lines.

I highly recommend that everyone buy Nissan filters. When I recently purchased my car I smelled gas in the engine bay. Since that was no laughing matter, I promplty started searching for the leak. I looked and looked and everything was tight and leak free. Finally, I sniffed around and noticed the fuel filter itself was leaking. It was an aftermarket filter and the previous owner had just changed it. My case may be unique, but since it is such a pain in the butt to change, save yourselves the headache!
