Clear corners just falling off.

The clear corners on my max have just been...falling off. The smaller, non-curved pieces on both sides fell off the first time, so when i bought another set from phenviv, i made sure and DUCT TAPED the inside where they popped on. Guess what? one side has popped off again. Anyone have any troulbe as i have? anythign to remedy this?

Did you put duct tape on the ball thing? The thing that goes inside the round, white clip.

you know the screw that holds it in place? Well, when I changed mine from stock to clears, it would not go back into place. It just kept falling out. All I did was unscrew that screw a couple of rotations(so that it is longer and will stick out further into the bumper) and then bumped the clear corner in. I have not had any trouble since.

The screw holds in the big piece, not the small one.

i put a dab of hot glue on the plastic plug before shoving the light back in. hasn't come out yet. but i may take out the plastic plug and the metal post and try to secure it from the inside with a regular screw/bolt since clear corners are notorious for walking away when you park your car.

1. get on ebay buy another for for like $20
2. duck tape from inside and outside (ghetto style)
3. super glue everywhere in side...it'll be on your bumper permantly (super ghetto style)
4. back to stock corner, JDM style

I put a set of clears on last night, and noticed they did not sit as tight as the Factory ones even with the rubber washer that was suggesed in the install guide. Even using the plastic clip that came in tthe kit of the one from stock lights it still seemed sloppy.

So for the mean time I used a little electrical tape wrapped around the 10mm nut to kind of make them a little more secure, but I was curious as well as to what others were doing to remedy this.

Just securre them from the back. Loosen the plastic guards underneath the car. Reach up under there and screw a bolt into the back of it. You'll need to remove the plasitc clip thats there for the stock lights. You'll probably need a washer. So it'll go like this:

light-car-washer-bolt

Thats should do it. Keep it nice and tight. I havent had any problems.

mrglynis is right
I read about that technique before I put mine on
and did it that way - No problems since install
also good idea cause it makes them harder to steal
lot easier than tape and glue
and if you need to get them off again it isn't such a problem

Mine fell out twice on the highway, it makes such a scary noise like your car is about to crash! turn's out it's just the driver side tiny clear corner piece dangling and smacking up against my bumper, the first time it happened I thought that I broke something in the engine.
Both times it popped out I was doing over 100, Then I just jammed it hard in there now it doesn't do it pop out anymore, lucky me.

Mine were constantly falling out and I was paranoid someone would steal them. I screwed them in from inside the bumper. When my car was lifted for an oil change, I just screwed them in. Now the only way their coming off is if some breaks them or the screw is loosened.

the only problem with securing them like that is if a theif wants them, he will get them. rather than just easily pulling them out he may rip a hole in the bumper, or if he still cant get them out, may scratch up your car, break a window, etc. just out of frustration. ive seen it happen to people on the org. so if they keep falling out secure them, but if you live in a place where they are stolen regularly, a piece of plastic isnt worth the amount of body work or paint job.

I don't live somewhere where they get stolen easily, so I can't say for that. All I know is I have had mine on there for a while and no problems.

Also, I was talking about the smaller piece(the one on the side, I think...it is the one you have to put in last.) On mine(custommaxima.com), the larger piece screws into the bumper, and the smaller piece is supposed to be screw in from behind like listed above. However, I didn't want to get under there and undo all the underside of the fender well/hood just to screw it in. That is why I said I did what I did. I loosened the post in the clear(it is like a hex, so a socket wrench will do it if it will not move.) a little bit and then just popped it into the stock hole in the bumper. Has been great every since and does not move. (no need for ghetto styles here...you ought to try it...ha ha)

I had the same problem on one of mine. I put a dab of silicone on the "stud" and that solved the problem. I was afraid if I bolted them on, someone else might destroy them if they were replacing a bulb or something.

It must depend on what brand clears you get. Mine fit just fine in the clips and no problem since. The directions I printed off here said to screw them in from inside the wheel well... I'm glad I didn't try that

Because they don't have to and it's cheaper not to.
I got CustomMaxima's clears and they pop out all the time. I just use one thin clear peace of tape and i don't have to worry.
When ever it rains though I got to add change the tape.

I put a small piece of double sided foam tape on the "ball" that fits into the socket in the bumper, it's been fine ever since. Instead of just poping out, you need constant pressure in order to remove them.

when i first put mine on i didn't put that plastic ball / clip thing on for the smaller light and it poped out while i was going 85 on the freeway. that scared the **** out of me it was so loud. i thought i hit something and massively screwed up the car because it was banging against the fender as i was driving. so i pull off to see wtf and its just that little light hanging there. i felt so stupid ! well i got home, pulled the plastic **** thing off of the oem light and put it on the new ones and i havent had it happen since
