NE1 know who makes a 6 1/2" (sub)woofer?

I bought the subsolutions box from a guy here on the org, but I think the woofer is blown. It has a 6 1/2" woofer and is in a bandpass box. I think if it was working it'll sound good.

I want to custom build my own enclosure that mounts to the rear deck and use a 6 1/2" woofer. Does anyone know a company that makes a good 6 1/2"??

Digital Designs , Adire Audio, Image Designs make 6.5 woofers, not sure whether to classify them as midbass/midwoofer or true woofer? not sure about classifications but they bump

Check with Parts Express. It is going to be difficult to find a dedicated subwoofer with good low end response due to the smaller excursion and available cone displacment. Would you consider using a single 8"? Also, what is your goal with this project? How low do you want your sub to go? If you just want to experiment, cool, if not, pull from others experience. I use Termpro and Google. They both have helped me. Let us know what you decide.

The main reason why I'm choosing to go with a 6 1/2" is simply to awe people. When I played the subsolutions 6 1/2" it hit extremely low (although not loud)!! I took out my 12" sub when I did it, and it sounded very close to it. SERIOUS!! Bandpass boxes can do wonders--when designed right.

I know Kicker made a pretty sweet 6 1/2" "sub"woofer quite a few years back. I google'd 6.5" subwoofer, but I only found two versions, Pyle and some no-name brand that you can buy at Radio Shack.

maximilion, my only issue with the JL 6w0 sub is the price for that little thing. I've also been searching and once I find out I'll let you know.

soundstream used to back in the day

but from what I hear some of you don't care for them anymore...

I don't think they ever made good speakers anyway, they used to make amps that were stable down to 1 ohm, or sometimes a half ohm...but anyway, back to the point, I don't even know if they still do.

Get a nice CDT Audio 6.5" which are closer to 7" really. The HD series will kick out some nice bass in a sealed door.

Have you looked at the driver that was removed from the SubSolutions box. Maybe there is some info on it?
I have heard some kickbutt 6's in bandpass boxes before and loved the range. i just prefer the thwack of bigger subs. Just me though.
If you have any more ?'s, let us know.
