I can't afford HID's for my 2000, but looking for a cheaper way to make my headlilghts look better, legally. So on ebay I saw these silver colored corners that are amber when turned on. More importantly during the day when off they don't make the corners look orange like with a orange corner, but clear. So I would get a clean look!

The problem now is I can't find them on ebay anymore and I was wondering if they are legal or worth buying?

Any comments about them or advice or where I could get them would be appreciated

i cannot comment on the legal issue but i have been running mine for about 2 years with no issues. i got mine from pep boys and im pretty sure APC makes them. i got them for the front and back. the only issue with the back is that you have to shave one of the connectors off for it to fit/work. they make the headlights and tails look so much cleaner in my opinion. you can check my homepage for pics and check out pep boys if you have one to see if the carry them in stock.

and the back ones have to BLINK orange OR red

you can also get the Silverstar Silvanias from Pep Boys...they also do the same thing but they seem to be better looking (looks and build) then the APC ones IMO...i have white bulbs up front but if i get any heat from the 5-0 about it then thats what i'm going with..although the LEDs are looking to be nice too...

 

Before you do look at http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm and go all the way to the bottom. Their price was the best that i could find. Paid alittle over $15 for front and rear silver amber 1156//1157.

 

Thanks for letting me know. I actually bought leds and other bulbs at autolumination for my interior like a week ago. I didn't realize they had the silver vision ones. Its definitely the cheapest prices out there plus only $2.50 for S&H for up to 50 bucks. So far no complaints bout the bulbs yet so i reccomend the site.

 

Sorry to bother again, have gotten good advice so far but wondering where to get hyperwhites for the interior map lights. Or could u tell me what size they are? Thanks

 

I bought a set of 194 and a pair of 7443 from a seller on EBay called cycolite393939 (I think). They've been really good.

Just remember, clear bumpers are illegal. Besides having amber or red at night, you have to have front side amber and rear side red REFLECTORS...

 

One issue with the rear bulbs. They are actually european style and not 1156's. so the actual location of the tabs on the bulb are different. You can still make them work but you have to force them to go into the socket. a little elbow crease did the trick

 

When you get those, could you post a pic of how they light up at night. The only reason I did not go with an LED setup is because they are not supposed to be as bright as a regular bulb.

 

IF you're wanting to change out the 1157s then POLARG makes a G34, which looks silver during the day, but lights up amber(or white, red, blue).

You can also do the "FREE Stealth" mod, so they only blink and don't produce amber light at night. Check the "How To" sticky above.
