Murano Winshield Washer Nozzle

My girlfriend just bought a new Murano (we're a Nissan household now), and I really dig the winshield washer nozzels on it... they sorta spray out a fine fan of fluid, instead of the dual squirt-gun streams my Maxima does.

Has anyone else seen those? They seem to help clean the windshield better by more equally distributing the washer, instead of relying on the wiper blades to move it around.

Anyone know if I could just purchase the nozzle heads for the Murano and make 'em fit on the Max? Once this late snow storm moves outta here I'll compare the two cars, but I figured I'd check in here first in case someone else has looked into it already.

Thanks.

My wife's Mazda 3 also has nozzles like that. I have been meaning (for a week now) to look at the hole size to see if they would fit the maxima.....I would imagine most sprayers are pretty close in size....I keep on forgetting to check, but will look tomorrow. I also want the sprayers that disperse the water all over, not just a stream....

[sneeky]our nozzles are better if turned around the other way...that way when people walk buy you can soak them [/sneeky]

Seriously though, i think this would be a great idea

My wife's Honda CR-V has these nozzles...no problems at high speeds...these are actually better!!!...

The only problem that I can see, and maybe I'm wrong, is that the nozzels may need to be closed to the windshield, or the angle the nozzles squirt need to be increase (can't adjust this)....I think the nozzles on the CR-V are closer to the windshield....

FrankTheBunny...you may want to take a look at the nozzle placement on your wife's Murano....

Those nozzle is interesting. But does it work in the cold and snow area?
BTW, how to aim the nozzles? My drive side was aimed too low

Dunno, but we'll find out. She bought it 2 weeks ago, and it was in the 50's - now it's back below freezing and we're getting a foot of snow tonight.

I'll try and get my tape measure out tomorrow evening to see how the size & distance from the windshield looks...

this sounds like a good idea. i'd imagine that they are fairly interchangeable or else why would they sell the generic LED nozzles? not sure tho..

I had a fan style on a different car. Sucked at highway speeds because the wind stream made the fan really narrow and the lower corners of the windshield never got fluid. I always had to wait till I stopped (slowed down) to clean the whole windshield

I have the fan style on my truck, and it works all the way up to and over 100 MPH...

Track tested, of course...

How about the cars that spray you when you are behind them. I notice BMW X5s spray their fluid right over their body onto my car. My TL had the fan spray, they didn't fan very well at high speeds however.

haha... i had the 'fan' spray pattern on my 2k after a rushed detailing put some wax inside the nozzles. i actually liked it and left it for a week or so before the built up wax totally chunked off.

what's better is, find a car where the nozzle is integrated into the wiper (cavaliers have it).

no longer need hood mounted windshield washer nozzles.

Impallas have it too. I have thought about doing this actually. I would just want to be able to get rid of the hood nozzles though. GM actually did something good when it designed those wiper systems.

I believe that you can aim your nozzle with a small straight pin. You have to stick the pin into the nozzle hole and aim it where you want the stream to hit.

I don't think it will work. The nozzles aren't on the hood, they're under it. There is a gap between the winshield and the hood, and they shoot up at the glass. Once it warms up I'll get under the hood and see if there's any chance the nozzles can be made to work on top of the hood, but I'm not so sure.

Anyone ever see aftermarket parts designed to do this?

Which vehicle are you talking about that has the nozzles under the hood? I was talking about the nozzles on the kclmax2k1's 2001 Max.

Yes, the part is actually like a small ball joint. You can aim them as posted above.
