New Mod: Magnaflow muffler *VIDS* *PICS*

I picked up a Magnaflow 14827 off of ebay, for those that dont know it is just the muffler section and not a real catback system. This muffler has a 2.25" inlet, and goes to a larger 4" outlet tip. I had Mad Hatter muffler shop in Miami, Florida weld a new exhaust pipe and flange with new hangers. Very good job I must say for a 20minute install.

that would really only happen if ur car was running rich, which most maxima's dont seem to have a problem with...

looks good, and sounds REALLY quiet, dont get a y pipe tho, or else it'll all go downhill

Nice, however, my buddy had that same exact muffler and be prepared for a helluva lot of rasp above 5K rpm at WOT w/ a Ypipe.

I have no ypipe, so all I get up top is a gushing wind sound.

if there's leackage it'll sound like ricefart. i think i gave you a sound clip of i/y/e on my car from inside. it gives a nice vroom below 3,000rpm. although intake still take over above 3,000rpm, but exhaust gets a lot louder with y-pipe and muffler.

since we do most of the driving below 3,000rpm on automatic (at least i do), ricefart shouldn't be a problem with y-pipe and magnaflow.

Not bad! It will get louder when you open it up a little. Iansw has a similar one, but with a 3" exhaust from the y-pipe back. It louder than hell! Either way sounds great!

hmmm i differ. these is no rasp above 5K at all in my car. well if there was no one could hear it because my intake would be screaming i should say.

and get a y pipe next. then a b pipe....you may want to add a resonator into it...i did and mine sounded much better. the best it ever sounded was without the y pipe. the y pipe made it much louder but its worth it all and all.

Actually, if you get someone to drive your car for you, stand back and prepare to hear the rasp. Its there, you just cant hear it from the inside of your car obviously.

Alot of people dont understand that your car really sounds nothing like you think it does. By that i mean, what you hear on the inside isnt what everyone else hears outside. Generally, your car is louder and deeper inside the car than out.
