how to clean air vents?

I dont have access to shop air, so please suggest some ideas on how to clean my air vents. I would rather not dismantle my dash.

reason I am asking is because when I turn on the heat or put the selector switch on to the feet position, it smells like FEET.

spray lysol in front of the intake vents near the windshield, and run the heater for a bit.

the fresh air vent is on the outside. spray the lysol on the outside which the vents are in front of the wipers. turn on the heat and it will pull the spray inside. i assume you dont have an in cabin microfilter?

my 2k1 ae did not have one so i added one mainly due to allergies. i think the reason most people use lysol is that is kills bacteria, mold and mildew. febreeze does smell better but i am not sure it gets rid of anything causing the smell.

my car didn't have the microfilter standard. It had a slot for it, but no filter. I put one in several months ago and haven't noticed any difference to tell you the truth.

To freshen up the scent...just stuff a bunch of that potpourri stuff down into the intake vent!
