Help, Gas attedant put 87 octane in my supercharged max!!!

I just got my max back from Maximum Tuning after my lsd tranny and supercharger install and went to get gas. I tell the guy to fill it up super and decide to watch him for some strange reason and notice that he's putting in regular!! I caught him at about $3 which is a little more than a gallon and yelled at him!! He then filled it up with super. How concerned should I be? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

To be totally safe, you could burn that tank out (take a nice long drive) and try to stay out of boost till your next fill up. Lower octane increases the chances of denotating, but its only 1 gal of 87 mixed with an almost full tank of 93, probably wont have much effect... maybe bring you down to a 92 or 91.xx octane...

I don't think you need to worry. Like Maxin said, it probably only brought you down to like 92 octane. If you really want to be safe, you could get some octane booster, or go to your local track and get a little race gas. Either way I think you're fine.

You always want to use 91+ if you're s'c'ed...

but the amount of 87 octane gas he put in, compared to 91+ octane, is somewhere in the neighborhood of 10% of the total.

90% of the fuel is 91+ with 10% 87 octane... so the ratio of "bad" grade to "good" grade is pretty negligable.

In the end, his whole tank of gas probably came out to something like 90.75 octane, instead of 91...

Mobil here has 87, 89, and 93. Not sure about our Sunoco though.
