Anyone riding 225/50/17 on their 02-03 GLE Rims?

I need to trash the POS Turanza on my '03 GLE but the stock size is 215/55/17. Hard to find with limited choices. I read on the post hat I can substitute with 225/50/17 tire and keep the GLE rims. Is that true? Has anyone used Falken 512's 225/50/17 on your GLE rims before? Any problems? Need to change it before the raining season hits the NE.

Gracias, Thank you!

That size is within spec for that rim. I put 235/50/17s on my wife's 2003 GLE and no problems.

I'm runnin' 225/50's on OEM GLE rims but I can't speak to Falkens specifically. You have various options, just pick a mfgr.'s tire and run the numbers for diameter, load rating, etc.
