How are KYB strut mounts?

I'm installing KYB struts and progress springs, and since my car has 120,000 miles, I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to replace the front strut mounts (aka insulators). KYB makes some - does anyone know how they are?
Also, if I don't replace the mounts, what are some of the possible problems with driving on old strut mounts?

I just had my suspension done this weekend, but my front strut mounts were not worn. My car has 145k on it. I bought the KYB's, but didn't use them. If you want to buy them off of me, just let me know. I will sell them cheaper to you than Tirerack will.

The illuminas are struts. These guys are talking about strut mounts. BTW I just got illuminas and I love them.

My strut mounts were worn out...making a clunk clunk noise when i was turning the steering wheel..I replaced them with new KYB mounts...the noise remained...I had finally replace them with Original Nissan ones...finally the noise dissapeared..I learnt my lesson.

wow. I thought KYB mounts would be better - so besides the clunking noise, what else happens if youre running on bad strut mounts?

ball joints will be gone in no time and if you dont know the 4 gen maximas ball joint cant be replaced but you have to replace the whole control arm($160+ oems) plus your tires are gona wear uneven thus making your steering shake and eventually everything in the front suspension and steering (struts, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar end links)its gone thats why i replaced everything listed above but i did same mistake i thought kyb were better but not true thats why this weekend im replacing them with new oems noise is driving me crazy
