Sucking Sound and MAF Voltage

Engine's running real rough sometimes, sounds like a cylinder is missing and there's sometimes a smell of raw gas in the exhaust. Also significant power loss above 3500 rpm.

Gonna replace my coilpacks when I get the money but I've also been told (and read in Haynes) I may have a vacuum leak and/or problems with my MAF.

According to Haynes, their should be 12V potential between the red terminal connecting to the MAF and ground. Mine is only getting 5V to it.

Does anyone know voltage the MAF should be getting to heat the wire?

Also, when I rotate the throttle pulley next to the intake, I get a brief hissing sound like air is being sucked in or shot out somewhere. I've got a K&N air filter, but no other aftermarket intake components. I've never noticed it before, but I wasn't looking for it either. Does anyone else's max make that noise when you first hit the throttle?

Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

I'd hope that noise is the sound of air passing over the throttle plate... that should be normal.

I'm not sure what the voltage is supposed to be... I have access to the 2000 FSM contents to verify; what year car is yours?

Sounds like the hose clamp came loose. Check them all, the ones on the intake around the MAF. It will do exactly what you are describing, because it will work ok until it gets certain press or the engine moves a little a opens a gap in the hose, bypassing the MAF and throwing the air/fuel ratio off. It sounds dumb, but just check the clamps anyways. Mine came off in a particualrly rough launch at the track one night. It is not immediately obvious because it *looks* like it is still attached correctly. Took me a while to realize it was loose.
