Wanna make my max turbo....

well i wanna make my 95 maxima turbo...im pushing 160,000miles on it, so i already know an engine rebuild would be a good idea, but what do i need to do in order to acheive this?? i've seen most ppl use a T3/T4 turbo but i kinda wanted something a lil bit bigger.....i really don't know much about turbo, so any advice is welcome, but i am set on turboing my maxima.

Well let us see??? When you guys mean "to do a rebuild" are you saying replacement of stock internals??? Then that's unadvisable...

Get the motor rebuild with stronger rods and pistons is not a waste of money..

Doing this will outlast any stock VQ motor in the long run... Just my 2cents.

Jade made it "seem" like he had to many miles on the motor, thus he needed to rebuild it to stock specs.

From his post I got rebuild a stock motor

Any size turbo where you can get full boost before 3k RPM is too small IMO. Some ppl here with T3/T4's get full boost around 2500 RPM. That MUST do a number on the top-end. Leave those to B18's...

well, start by reading all the stuff that goes in this thread section. I'd advise getting a kit, as I've been working on my custom install for almost 9 months now, and I'm still not near done... if you buy a kit, it will have all the stuff you need, and it shouldn't take more than a month to put it in. as far as saving money on your own kit? I've spent 2500 so far, and I'm guesing I'll spend at least another 1500.

If you want to do your own kit. prepare to be tired of working on the car by the time you get done, and make sure you know what your doing before you start. don't be scared to ask questions.

hope this helps.
