Heating Stock Coils Bad??

Theirs this Car Shop that say they can heat my stock coils so that my car will be lowered about a 1"-1.5", they charge $150 to so this. Sounds like a cheap way to drop my car a little but I was just wondering if it's bad for my stock SE shocks. Anyone see any reason why I should not do this.

How is that a cheap way? For $150 you can buy good springs and put them on yourself in a day. That seems like a BS kind of thing to me. Wouldn't the heating and reshaping of the springs make them weaker? Why not just cut off a coil in each spring? Most of all your handling won't change at all and your stock struts wil eventually blow.

Cutting the coil will give me that ghetto low rider bounce when i go over bumbs and i'm not sure it it would make them weakers, I dont see why it would tho.

Kidding me right? For $150 you can seriously get some better springs.

Shocks? It dont matter he was gonna heat the coils and blow the shocks anyways... He's going to have to get new struts/shocks if he dont want to blow them once he puts the springs on.

suspension isnt something you can do a half *** job for. you are talking about the ride quality of your car and i wouldnt dream doing something like this on my maxima or any other car for that matter. i understand u may be short on $$$$ but just take that 150, put it asside and get more money and do it all right. just my oppinion
