I would like to get a set of these with no less than 8k's. I heard Hanabi's are the most popular on the .org and was wondering where I can purchase them. Or where can I purchase other HID's that you guys might think are better than others?
McCullochs rock... I have a set of 8000k's and honestly I think they are brighter than alot of factory HID systems.
Edit: I got mine off of Ebay for $315 shipped..Try to stay away from brands you've never heard from..Theres a bunch of those on Ebay.

Freddy carries hanabi or you can them from globalpremier.com, those are hanabi kits.
McCullochs have a very high failure rate i would not reccommend them. If you are looking at a high k kit you might aswell consider Mecca Tune and the only reason i say that is because they come with Hella ballasts which are the best ballast and also with a one year warranty. whatever you decide good luck.
This is probably the best post in this thread as far as info goes about what kind of HID's to get...
Go over to www.hidforum.com and join the site, use search for brands b4 you decide to buy anything and you'll get your answer(s). Here is a tip, McCullochs
is not a brand you want, Hanabi...I dont care what the OG members here say, I still say
Stick with REAL brands like Phillips, Osram, ect...

I have McColluchs 4300k for about 6-7 months now and I haven't had any problems, until 2 nights ago. I started my car with the remote starter and the passenger light started blinking. I turned the car off and on again and it worked fine, and has since. Also the 4300k is just a little too bright in my opinion. I got it because I wanted a pure white light, but it's bright as hell. If the bulbs go out, I'd probably get a higher k like 6000 or something.

So these aren't made from Hella?

Well now, it looks like Mecca uses Hella ballast. Im surprised to say the least. Id still focus on the main brands but thats just my .02
Just keep in mind REAL hids dont go any higher then 6000-6500K. After that you lose light output.

Mecca Tune uses Hella Ballast but use cheap taiwain capsules. If you want good hid kit go with philips, dont listen to anyone who says other things about high k kits they dont do nothing but make your headlights colorful. Good luck.
Get a set of projectors from www.hidtech.com
www.hidforum.com
you'll learn a great deal there. If you're creative you can DIY...but for someone like me, im gonna go w/the 6000k phillips kit.

I did the HID's in my stock headlights, just took a little work, had to rig something to get them to stay nicely, once you get the HID's and stuff, youll fig something out. if your really into getting good HID though, you should get projectors, and do a retrofit

I say just get the projectors to begin with
Your gonna buy burners and want to go with projectors after that anyway so might as well get projectors to begin with and save your time/money

not really...i didn't do any research about the McCullough kit. Though i wish i did. I mean...i really llike the visibility of this kit. I can see a person's retina inside a heavily tinted car on a dark and rainy night. I mean these things are bright but the beam scatters everwhere. People on the road flash me constantly. Is there a better kit that i can purchase?

you know the answer to that question. All the keys you need to answer any hid type questions are already in this thread. Have at it.
I can't believe you, ImstockBaby. You haven't gotten flashed yet? That's funny and you have a higher kit than i do. Weird.
Anyways, do you think if i paint the bottom inside of the headlight it might limit the beam scatter?
