Dissassemble front susp. w/o losing current alignment specs

ok guys (and girls) I have a question for you

Anyone have any ideas on how to mark my current Camber/Toe settings on my front suspension? because i need to dissassemble my front 2 struts and I just got put in alignment about 3 weeks ago. that 60 bucks adds up.

So far I've had the idea of using a junkyard pen to mark around the lower strut bolts, but im not entirely sure that will work>

any ideas, suggestions, and imput would be appreciated.

You can get it ballparked but not totally accurate. But I've done struts and not needed an alignment

It's really a hit or miss thing, in all honesty. The more suspension swaps you do, the easier it will be...

Unless you change the car height or have camber bolts, alignment should not be affected. There is no camber adjustment for stock bolt, and the toe setting is locked with a jam nut at the tie rod end.

re

There is room for camber adjustment - with the lower bolt loose there is about 1/2" of movement - with lowering springs you want to pull the rotor toward you as much as possible.
Just mark your present settings with marker/knife - anything that will mark it nice and close, when you put things back together try to get them lined up as much as possible - it is trial and error method and you'll only get better with practice. I remember one week in summer in which i had my fronts dissasembled atleast 5 time in a week !!!

that's impressive and dedication!

i'm getting an alignment next weekend when my summer wheels get back on and two new(to me) tires mounted and then hope i don't need to again later in the summer if/when i can afford springs and front struts.

If you got the alignment done 3 weeks ago, did it come with any warranty? Around here it's usually 6 month/6000 miles.
