change color for maixma 2005
Just guessing, but since the '04s will have been out sixteen months around July 4th, I would not be surprised to see '05s begin trickling in soon after that. Almost surely by August.
Traditionally, Nissan makes very few changes for the second year of a Maxima generation, so I don't expect to see many changes for the '05.
Usually, one or two colors are added, and sometimes a color is dropped. But as 'smoke' and 'sand dune' were added just two months ago, I would be surprised if more than one new color was added for '05. 'Radiant ember' was dropped late last summer. Slow-selling 'champagne mist' might be dropped with the '05s.
As Accura raised the HP on the TL from 260 to 270 to 'best' the Maxima, I would not be surprised to see Nissan to bump the '05 from 265 to 275 or so to best the TL.
We hear rumors of turbo and AWD here, but I see no way the Maxima will ever have turbo (serves no purpose on a powerful FWD vehicle), and AWD, although possible in '06, will be more likely in the '08 redesign (generation 7), and will probably be an upscale model of the Maxima.
Nissan will probably come up with some feature or goodie to sort of differentiate the '05s from the '04s, but I would be surprised if it was anything 'big'.
Just keep in mind that my opinion and $1 will get you a cup of coffee down at the Krispy Kreme . . .
