Max Totalled, Help!

I need some advice from people that have been in an accident before. I was just in an accident with a truck yesterday (i'm ok though) and the front end of my 96 max got pretty much totalled and both air bags went off so I think my car is going to be claimed as totalled. If my car is deemed as totalled how do I get my aftermarket parts back? I put alot into the car and would like to get most of it back. Also any other advice you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Also how do they determine how much they give you for the totalled car?

Thanks

You can buy the car back and take hte mods off. Or you can put the mods into the price that they give you. Or you can go to where the car is and take the parts off.

I was in that situation with my daughter’s car. I had to sign the title for the totaled car over to my insurance company as part of the settlement. I believe they recoup part of their loss through selling it to a salvage yard. I was given retail blue book value for the car as part of the settlement.

I would take your parts off the car now, where ever it was transported, before any title change, as it is still your car for the moment.

I agree with Magellan on that one, You should go to where the car is and get your mod parts off before you sign the title over to the insurance.
