tested knock sensor bad?

I just tested my knock sensor using a multimeter and the chiton manual that I have says that there should be coniunity between terminal A and ground. I tested both terminals that lead to the sensor and got NO contiunity from ethier. In addition I tested the resistence and I got and "overload" reading on my meter and my meter can read up to 40 M ohms.

Does this mean my knock sensor is bad?

PS: my gas mileage is about 200-250 city and 400 highway

you should have some resistance on your knock sensor, if your reading is overload and no continuity on the knock sensor, he's toast. You probably notice some lag in power between 0 to 3000 rpm when you floor it don't you?

you'll have lag everywhere with a bad knock sensor. You'll also get the 0304 knock sensor code when you throw the ECU into diag mode.

honestly i wouldnt know if its laggin or not, because its been driving the same since i bought it(less than a year ago). about the code, the last time i checked I didnt get any ghost codes.

I'm thinking of just putting a 550k resitor for about a week and see if there is a change.

If you are measuring impedance or continuity through the two pins on the wiring harness, you are doing it wrong. The KS only has one wire going to it. The case is grounded. Try measuring the hot lead from the connector and using battery ground.

I did ground it to the battery. I tested both pins with the red lead.
