SES..Bad MAF or something worse?

I had the FC exhaust installed 2 weeks ago, and everytime I start my car, there's a horrible rattling sound & clanking sound which goes away after driving around for ~15mins. However, whenever I go over bumps, you can hear the exhaust pipes hitting something underneath. I haven't gotten a chance to go to PepBoys (installers) to have it fixed yet.

Since yesterday the car has been hesitating going from 1-3K rpm..and will not go over 3k sometimes. If I really push the pedal hard & keep it there, it struggles, then revs to 5K and then shift extremely hard dropping the rpms down. First impressions make me think this is just a problem w/the MAFS. But do you think this is a tranny problem possibly caused by the (a) exhaust pipes hitting something underneath or (b) my bent heat shields. Everytime it clanks, I can feel the vibration thru the shifter. Hopefully it's not a tranny prob, but I would like to know before I goto the dealer b/c they've started charging me $45 just to check out things now b/c of the aftermarket stuff on my car.

Btw. there's no Autozone around here to have the code checked..sorry for the length

I'm more of a newbie, but from what I have read, it sounds like it is your maf since your car is hesitating and wont go over 3000 rpm.

if you installed an exhaust and then this problem started logic would state that there is a high proabability that it has something to do with the exhaust install. I'm thinking they screwed up your rear 02 sensor and maybe forgot a hanger or something.

hmm, i dunno maybe that's why my car's burning gasoline like a fratboy chugs beer? I dunno how his MAF would get damaged by installing an exhaust tho

BTW I would change dealers if i were you that's BS.
also, i would never get anything installed by pep boys =P
