For some reason, my throttle seems a little wierd. For example, lets say I'm coasting, on and off the gas...everytime i'll go back on the gas, no matter how much, the engine will seem to jerk and feel a little sloppy for the first second then accelerate like normal. As you can see, if your coasting, this happens quite often enough to get annoyed with. I've tried pretty much everything such as TB cleaning, replacing engine mounts, cleaning IACV, fuel injector cleaning, inpect for vaccuum leaks, clean MAF.....pretty much everything I could think of as a reason. I asked a buddy of mine and he said it might be because of the Fidanza flywheel, but I doubt something like this would be caused by a flywheel. Any thoughts, cuz I'm clueless...

Oh, and just as a little sidenote...lets say I'm going like 30mph, like 3rd or 4th gear, low RPM...and I floor it, or go on the gas very quick.....seriously, it feels like the engine isnt even bolted down because it feels like the engine is flopping around for like 1-3 secs before it realizes it cant turn the wheels and goes back to normal.

 

Welcome to the wonderful world of Autotragics. Every automatic maxima has this problem. What happens when you let off the gas, the tranny almost disengages, when you step back on, the ecu/tranny take time figuring out what to do.

yeap, the infamous auto-lag.

you can try to adjust the throttle cable sensitivity by tightening it. it increases the reponseness from your gas pedal to the throttle.

 

get the TB upgrade for faster shifts.. adjust your throttle cable of loose slack..

Hey fellas, read again. He has a Fidanza flywheel, so he's 5-speed.

I've got the same issue in a small way. I think it has to do with the fuel cutoff which is activated when the car is decelerating at fully closed throttle. Then when you give a little gas to resume coasting, the fuel comes back and you get a little jerkiness.

 

Replace or adjust the throttle position sensor.

 

Yup, 5 speed here....how would i adjust the tps?

 

ohhh... my bads.. i think i have the same problem. just in first.. say i get to like 4k in first..and let off the gas without shifting up.. i let her rev down a 1k or 2..when i get back on the gas she jerksonce or twice then picks up normally.. i tohght it was the bad clutch.. but i just changed it..and the jerk is still there.. so the TPS is at fault. ill look into that. thanks.
