What were the symptoms of your car?? Would it almost die when you gave it gas or did you notice a big power loss??

If it barely ran and would almost die then I would say your MAF sensor is shot, if it was just losing power I'll bet it is just your knock sensor. You can get a great deal from Jerry Rome Nissan (JRNISSAN) at 30% off list price for parts this week. After that you will still get a great deal of 25% off. Just look around in the for sale threads and you should be able to find out about the details of this.

I would take your car to autozone and have them run the codes for free for a second opinion. Make sure that the clip to your MAF sensor is securily plugged in. Get back with the details of what your symptoms are and what autozone says.

And yes those prices are high

I highly doubt your MAF is bad if that is all that is happening. Change the knock sensor and that should take care of your problem. Just for the sake of it take it by autozone and have them run the codes for free. You can save yourself a lot of stealership funds by doing this.

Here is the link to JRNISSAN's deal until April 30th. Grab a knock sensor and get back to me what Autozone says your codes are. Good luck.

$90 shipped for a genuine Nissan knock sensor. Two days ago, there were 15 available, now there are 3. He's who I got mine from, and it works great.

Good Luck!

deal is lawyas ripping you off no matter what. the pirce they charged you seems normal for dealships. I would check junkyarkds and get a mass air flow for $50 and put it in yourself. it would only take about 2 min and then reset the ecu.

They sometimes show up on eBay for $50-$100. You can get it from the junkyard for about that price. Ask in the Classified section here if someone has one.

Since you're in NY, go to the Regional section of the forums and see if someone local to you will let you swap the MAF sensor for a minute to see if that really is the problem

Exactly as I had thought. Did you get anything in writing from the dealer saying that the MAF and knock sensor were bad?? After you replace the knock sensor and everything is fine I would make a big stink to the service manager of the dealership you went to and tell them that they lost a customer. Hell throw in that you are considering contacting the BBB. Reading codes is the easiest thing to do, and anyone who knows anything about cars and MAFS would know that your MAF is fine (your car would barely run and would stumble like crazy and die routinly if your MAF was bad.)

Dealerships suck!!!

Since when did the KS have 2 codes? Since when did just the KS set off the CEL?

If your CEL is still on, check it yourself and see what the codes are and then reset it and see if it comes back.
