cheap headlight bulbs?
cheap headlight bulbs?
been looking around for affordable headlight bulbs to replace stock halogen ones on my 2k1 and found this site. These bulbs are damn cheap. It says super white krypton so I thought about giving em a try but don't really know why they're so cheap. There's gotta be a reason. Can anyone who's used these or know anything about em share the info? Thanks.

Like Ammi said, check Ebay.
I've tried the 7000k bulbs from HiLiteIndustries in my Mazda and they were worth the money(Somewhere around $15 a set). I didn't have any problems with them blowing out. These were H7 bulbs(55watt) and they had a little more blue in them than the stock HID's on my 03 Max. Of coures the light output on the HID's were better, but comparing standard H7's to the hilite one's; the Hilite ones's put more light to the road and it was a much, much whiter light. I also tried their H3(55watt) bulbs, but I was less than impressed with them. I'm not sure which bulb your max takes, but I would guess the standard headlight bulbs(9004,9007,H4, etc) would be similar to the H7's I had. I since switched my Mazda headlights back to stock and have been very tempted to get a 9004 set of the Hilite's.
This is the order in which i'd rank some of the different bulbs I've tried.
1. 7000k hilite bulbs
2. Sylverstar bulbs
3. Walmart cyberwhite bulbs
4. Stock
5. Very Cheap Ebay bulbs (I had a major prob with these blowing out)
I'd also check out The PIAA Spark Blue, Super Plasma, or hiperwhite bulbs as I've heard good things with all of these, but their price is a little up there.

thanks all you guys. I definitely will check up ebay. But i don't want too much of a blue hue in the light. Jesse do the 7000k hilite bulbs have a lot of blue in the light? I saw some color temperature scale in one of the stores selling PIAA bulbs

and the 7000k rating seems to be beyond the white sunlight range and would seem to have a blue look. Are the sylvania silverstar lights whiter? Thanks all.
