this is not exactly a task for people that aren't incredibly mechanically inclined.

you don't have to drill holes. You have to weld two o2 bungs for the secondary o2's after the main cat

there are two bungs already on the headers for the primary o2s

another two will have to be welded after the cat for the secondaries.

Or.... U can leave the bungs out, get some 02 sensor eliminators and let the 02s hang somewhere where they won't touch anything or get destroyed- mine sits under the cover on the valve cover. The eliminator is basically a resistor that fools the computer into thinking the cats are working. If U have a cat- then it will be fine, if U don't have a cat then the 02 sensor eliminator is needed eighter way- I used to get Check engine lights every 4 days with my style of driving cause of no Cats.

and the key word: "with a lift" .... heh.

my mechanic did another car in 6 hours, taking his time without a lift and also taking out the radiator.

This wouldn't be the same on a 2000 fed would it. I am trying to see if I can put them on my car. looking at the headers they got a O2 sensor at each header. Mine only has three O2's right one on each manifold and after the main cat.

With that you won't have to do any relocating at all just plug in the two that were on your stock manifold into the headers and leave the other where it is.

The problem with the 3.5's is that there are 2 before the precats and 2 after on the stock manifold so the 2 rear ones have to be relocated after the main cat after the precats are removed.

While on the subject if no one minds, with the stock exhaust, how much does the noise level go up?

Mick, the guys with headers and stock exhaust have reported that the sound level is very tolerable and actually quite nice sounding...350z ish. My setup on the other hand is pretty loud.

and with all the posts going on asking for header how-tos there obviously isn't one.

not something every person is willing to do, taking pictures while taking about the car and various components for a 4-6 hour installation. not enough ppl are running headers (15+?) on the board yet.

Is there any negetive effect on using o2 eliminators on a 2002? Could it be harmful to the car at all?

All they do is send a signal to the ecu that the cats are performing, they have absolutely no function other than that. All the controlling is done by the primary o2 sensors the secondaries do diddly.

If you don't care about the light being on then don't waste your $25 on the eliminator.

I want to know if the cel is on and why so I chose to use the o2 eliminators.

Hmmm, I might be interested in having you do these for me...but not until you report back if it was worth while to put them on a 3.0. I think you are the first...right?
