Unibody Damaged. Now What?
Unibody Damaged. Now What?
Fender bender this past Saturday. Utility. Body shop says Unibody is damaged, how much is still being determined. Had one person on the org tell me that this may be bad. My question?
How Bad?
Depending on the extent of the damage, are things like this normally fixable? Will the car ever be the same again?

All depends. Hard to say without pics and seeing in person. Sometimes they can be pulled straight. Then there are times where they will cut the car in half and install a new clip. I can actually show you pics of a 4th gen we cut in half and added a new rear clip to.

Got word back from the body shop. The damage isn't too bad, they said it was more of a bend. There trying to if they can bend it back on some machine.
Synki, cutting the car in half sounds very extreme. Why would they let people drive vehicles with damage that require this sort of fixing?
Frank, I have no intention on keeping such a thing secret if I should ever try to sell my car. Im sure that would only cause problems I don't care to deal with.
Thanks for your comments fellas. I feel relieved that the damage may be fixable by a means that isn't too extreme. I'll see how it all works out.

if you ever rode in a limo thats a car hats bee cut in half, extended and put back together, in the hands of a qualified technician, it can be done properly, and on collision repairs they never cut cars literally in half, they replace the parts that are too severely damaged
