Greddy SP2 Catback impressions

I installed the Greddy SP2 catback today with Warpspeed Y-pipe and Magnaflow high-flow cat. Here're my impressions:

*When you start the car, the initial sound is deep and aggressive much like that of a V8 Camaro
*At slight throttle, you can't hear the exhaust. It is no different from stock.
*With any amount of throttle besides slight and WOT, the tone becomes deep and noticeable.
*At WOT, prepare to make people believe you have a V8 because the exhaust note becomes very deep, mean, and throaty.
*Cruising at highway speed (70-75mph), I could not hear the exhaust note unless I punched it. With cruise control on, it was just like stock.

All in all, I'm very very pleased with the system. Although I would prefer the tone to be similar to the stock system at any throttle besides WOT, but the tones produced are very pleasing if you want your car to sound mean and aggressive.

Awesome. How 'bout performance? I know its only cat-back but just wondering. I'm seriously contemplating trashing my current setup for the SP-2. Where'd you get it from and how much? CM, I'm assuming.

Horsepowerfreaks.com for $520 shipped. I can't say for performance because my O2 sensors are messed up ATM. I'll fix 'em tomorrow though and get back to you.

520 bucks for an exhaust.
talk about expensive.
a catback does what like 5hp?
about 100 bucks a hp....
the only maxima that sounds like a v8 is ironlung's with his sexy cams.

i'm sure it sounds really nice. all that SS piping is good because it will last longer then your max will.

get some sound clips and pics up!

I also have an SP2, I've had it on for about a month now and I like it. It sounds deep and mean, but I wouldn't go quite as far as to say it sounds like a V8. It definitely sounds good. If I could I'd make some sound clips, but I don't have a video camera or anything.

I'd like to say there is an improvement in performance, I can't say how much though because I've never dyno'ed. Part of it might just be in my head, but it feels smoother and a bit quicker.

It is a lot of money but I'm happy with it. I got it through this one local shop that gave me 20% off (ended up being around 460-480 or so).

Yeah, it's 2.5". I've heard they are making one for 97-99, I don't know when they plan on releasing it though.

The SP1 sounds rather nice but the B pipe rusts like crazy. I would never buy a SP1. But the SP2 on the other hand would be worth the money b/c its 100% SS. $550 or so is not alot for a SS cat back.

yes the SP2 is a very good exhaust and it looks great with the new curled tip.

it's not a 2.5" inlet. it's 60mm which when you convert over is 2.36"

Besides being full SS, what else is the difference between the SP1 and the SP2? Does the SP2 have a different constructed muffler?

is your car on a manual or automatic, because that does make a big difference in sound. The manual sounds so much better than the automatic, especially when gears switch.

Sadly, I have an auto. The tone definitely changes as the gears change.
