Whats your favorite and non favorite thing about Your I30/I30t?

So whats your favorite thing about them? I that they are pretty fast for what they are stock you know? Its a pretty powerful engine stock, and its a willing engine to, it has no qualms about delivering power quickly. its also a sturdy car and you feel it when you drive it, and especially for a front wheel drive car, the power is really good. Plus its some nice luxury, and it has a sleak look from the front, and the tails lights look eveil at night

A few things i hate about them is that my trunk is so wierdly shaped its not flate and level, and also on the trunk it has those bars to open and close it you know that go across.. Also i hate the lack of sound dampening and my door handles, well the silver came off, and the computers especially my ABS are poorly EM shielded.

For me the two things I hated most were the old amber turn signals (until I made them red) and the '96 headlights, especially when they get that disgusting yellow film over them. My favorite thing would definitely have to be the overall quality of the Nissan engine - reliability, durability and respectibility.

Favorite part is probably the engine and the sleeper effect my 5spd has. I also really like the interior.

What I don't like so much is the rear end. It's not the tail lights, I like those. There is just something odd about the way it looks from certin angles. It hangs too far over the back wheels and bulges out too much on the sides.

IMO, the car looks geat from front and side angles, but you start to walk around the rear of the car and it just looks awkward sometimes.

Oh, I also hate the off set of the stock wheels.

Actually, I didn't like the way the front looked with the vertical grill and ugly headlights. The horizontal grill and Cefiro lights made a HUGE difference. The rear is ok and better looking than the chopped off look from the 4th Gen Maximas. The only thing I wished is that the car had the analog clock that ALL Infinitis have that our car doesn't.

I sort of feel the same way as you do - I always thought the I30 had a very, "plain jane" look about its rear end (I think I may be quoting someone on here with that) but I added a spoiler and all is good now, for me anyway.

I think that the vertical grill looks good, its keep like an evil look to it, and i thinkt he stock headlights are ugly. the cleared ones look so much nicer. i wasnt to add a spoiler to mine really bad, not the stock one though, a universal touring spoiler, its little more prominant tan the stock spiler but its not a skyscaper and plus it giives it a sportier look IMO.

The stock rims are better then allt he other stock rims for the I30 i think. But personally if i had a choice and the money i too would buy new rims. The car over all lights and all need that cleared look to them none of this foggy bull**** plastic. also The lack of dampening just to bring it up again is treakky bad. I was listening to Get Low today and my top was shaking not just the trunk lid but the top of my car.

I like the 5MT VLSD. Also, like mike said, the sleeper effect is quite nice. I like the luxury feel of the car, but my biggest b!+ch is the fact that the previous owner cut corners on installing the suspension and now I have to tear it down and redo it over $40 in parts.

Also, mike is right- Even n the T model BBS rims, the offset is not appropriate for a "touring" class car. Goodbye, OEM BBS, hello, Q45t BBS!

I really dig the grille and the whole front. One of the reasons why I chose I30. I think the front look makes the car look kinda special.

Plus, I like the front fenders. Nice smooth transition from the corner lights to the fenders. I especially like the angle viewed from the side looking toward the side mirrors and the fender.

As far as the things I don't like...the fogged up headlights. I think Infiniti/Nissan should've recalled it for safety issue. It looked very dim and most importantly cheap(it feels cheap too). I replaced mine for 98-99 style jewel type.

Secondly, the headlights once again. They should've put separate bulbs for low beam and high beam. For a 30k car...I think they should all have it set up like that. Usually, cheap cars have those single bulb headlights.

Also, agree about the rear thing that Mike said.

I love the stock wheels on my 2000 "T". They look clean and I like the strong "movement" this type of wheel has. I also like how smooth and quiet the drive train is.

What I dislike is that, for some reason, it attracts idiots out there who think neons and body kits have any place at all on this car. These dipsh!ts think that type of junk makes their cars look "pimp" or "tight" (which is gay as hell on its own), but it doesn't. It makes it look trashy and immature. I don't know why, but the I30 draws the attention of morons who cant seem to understand that it's an elegant touring car not some, I hate to say it, "rice rocket".

Also, I see many of those who get into and out of my car banging doors to close'em as if they are it's a truck. My car doors were quite sensitive till I got these insensitive ppl into my car, and now it takes small effort to close the (passenger) door.

It's becoming a sensitive issue between me and my passengers, I'm finding it tough to tell them.

The other day, when I went to airport to pick my friend, he closed the trunk lid with a bang, and now the trunk lid won't close easily :-(

flthere, i know exactly how that feels. onec my friend closed the door and the trunk, both with a bang. it made the car shake from the force and just ticked me off even tho i was the only other person in the car.

my car started creaking now, ermmmmm i think its the strut or something creaking on turns, my driver side window motor just died, and my seat started to squeak. o yeah i dunno bout u guys but the silver on my door handles came off the front 2 doors and its starting to come off the back two doors, and well my brake pedal isnt really that sensitive, mabye its because i have my subs in the back its alot more weight to always stop with, but i dunno. Its old i guess u know. I put it through the mill this weekend cause i just got me license, so its like critiquing time, i think that the suspension could be tighter on turns, but the car does well on wider turns at like 40 - 45 not on the highway but residential roads if u get what im saying, the tires screeched on the turn but the car handeled itself very well. the car takes the bumps rather well, and well after what its been through lowering it may not be that good of an idea, also the bose deck skips way too much when it hits a bump that another thing i dont like. also the layer between the trunk and the cabin is too skinny, when the bass pump u really hear it and the seats and under the rear glass shakes a real lot, something that i may have to fix with sound dampeing material at one point or another, or sumthing like that. despite being able to feel the extra weight while driving its not that bad, its position in the trunk is really good, right over the axel so u can handel well on turns, the center of gravity doesnt impede performance that much. Over all, i am noticing more of the flimsy construction that makes up the car. The trunk lid is not good with the subs, it tends to rattle alot in the corners by the rear window, and above the license plate there is the trunk release and sumthing else that virbate alot when the subs are on, ive tried fixing it but i havent been that successful. other than all of this the most important thing is its reliability, which to me was proven this weekend. i really pushed it on the side roads, i did alot of dead stops and flooring it and it seemed to handle nicely, it had alot of control on turns, and although i pushed it it still performed even with a full load of people in the car. One thing that truely worries me is the brakes, they arent that tight and they have a low sensitivity, eventhough i had the rotors ground down pads replaces and new master cylinder installed, also that abs works nicely i stopped short cause i missed a corner ABS kicked in i made the turn the car survived and i kept control.

Also guess how much those little trunk clips cost u know so u can take off the side paneling... OVER A FRICKEN DOLLAR, thats just retarded if you ask me, i only bought a few for my trunk i broke a bunch and it helped with some trunk noise believe it or not

Ok, there are some issues that you are focusing on as complaints, but I don't think they are rightly justified.

First, the car isn't a sports car, it wasn't designed to be, nor will it ever be. You can upgrade components (brakes, suspension, etc), but it will never ride like one. What kind of pads do you have on your car? My car stops very well and I'm using Axxis Metal Masters with dimpled/slotted rotors.

Subs? Try Dynamat. I have it throughout my trunk, and the bass is nice and tight.

The bottom line is that your car is 8 years old. It's old and tired.

Like others with a 5 speed, I love the sleeper effect, especially since I totally debadged my car. Unless people know me, they really don't know what the car is, and when I tell them, most still don't know what it is. With simple light upgrades and such, I think the car looks very classy, and even carries a "stock" look with it.

I'm getting real tired of FWD and beam suspension, and the lack up top-end power, but that will be solved soon enough. We have large back seats, a fairly quiet ride, class, and good power. It's the best thing I can afford right now, for sure. Plus, since so few people have these, and even fewer mod them, a modded I30 is a pretty rare car. Here are some before and after pics of my car. Basic mods make such a huge difference....

Oh yeah, the stock spoiler is necessary....

ooo trust me i know. it is 8 years old and well for a car that old its holding up pretty damn well if i do say so myself. Its def not a sports car and i realize that, im just pulling some off the stuff out that i know could be upgraded and fixed if i ever felt like dumping money into it, which i dont feel is neccessary. id rather save up the cash and dump it into a newer car you know. i dont know what kinda brake pads are on or any of that i guess its just all stock type of stuff, i didnt really single the brake system out, all i have done is lighting and audio. i plan on mabyew buying secondskinaudio ehich is a competitor with dynamat and supposed to be better.

for what the car is its worth it i think, i thought i would just bring up some stuff that you guys may be able to concure with.

They must have put better quality headlights into the models we have here, my headlights are still crystal clear, as are those on others I've seen around town

What I like:
It still looks more modern then some of the newer cars you see today, especially in regards to the interior. As others have mentioned, the excellent performance, I love being able to put my foot down every now and then and be pushed back into my seat The excellent reliablilty is another, mines done 257,000km's and it still feels and looks like a car that's done much less, with out any replacement parts

What I don't like:
Nothing major, really to be honest. It doesn't have cruise control nor does it have keyless entry, I would have thought all models would come stock with this.

I dont like how the car handles at high speeds. It feels way to floaty and bouncy. Lowering it an inch or two will help a lot. Also, I HATE the ugiy @$$ wheel gap. Once again, lowering it will help. Other than that I love the power, reliablity, build quality and looks. The ugly fogged two piece head lights have to go, along with the grill! I fixed that though.

They could have done a better job making the interior different from the Maxima.
