Drilled and slotted rotors

has anyone noticed any performance improvement while using these? also is there a vibration or scraping noise while braking lightly with drilled or slotted rotors?

i have brembo cross/drilled rotors all around. i have not encounter these problems for daily driving. the braking distance decreased vs. stock rotors.

I've hard cross drilled rotors on my Subaru SVX 3 years and they've been great. I just dont see how they would crack?

I have drilled and slotted rotors from irotors.com no breaking or cracking after a year now. As far as performance, nothing reallly noticable, even with qs pads

Whatever you do just stay away from drilled rotors. Slotted yes, but stay away from drilled. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know better.

Just get regular rotors...if you want to improve any brake performance...get BIGGER rotors not those silly cross-drilled or slotted.

Cross drilled are fine for the street. I've had Stillen cross drilled on mine for about 70K now with absolutely no problems. They are a little noisy when braking at low speeds. I think they help. Probably the biggest difference will come with a better brake pad. I use Porterfields on the front and they are really great. Make sure you ask for the maxima.org discount since that will save you $80-90 off list price. Porterfields will dust, but that's worth the price to me if it will make the car stop quicker!

Yup! Just call them and say you want the .org discount and they will give you a great price. I think the front pads list for $159, but the .org cost is about half of that. Get the street version. They also sell Hawk, but when I talked to the rep she said some customers complained of them being noisy. She also confirmed that some customers have complained that the cross-drilled rotors are noisy. FYI - I'm going thru a set of these Porterfields about every 30K. I'm sure the stock pads will last much longer, but the Porterfields are definitely stronger and very quiet. Make sure you reuse the isolation pads from your stock pads or buy new stock isolation pads if you don't have them... I don't think the Porterfields come with any, and the stock work best of everything i've tried.

Real rotor information reference. For those of you not experiencing cracking problems, I'm gonna guess you aren't working them hard enough to warrant the use of them. ie.. would most likely see no performance difference if you had blanks vs drilled. Race cars use them yes. But they also change them after every race also.
