New H/u W/bose

i'm aware i'll need that converter thing in order to keep the bose speakers and have a new hu. Am I limited to certain headunits, or looking for something it should have in particular (ex. like sub outputs etc) I'm adding an amp and box. Or can i just get any head unit, plus the converter. Does anyone know how this will sound or if anyone has even done it??

Hey, if you are changing BOSE head unit I would suggest to change speakers as well. Bose is good, but they have a lot better brands on the market. Especially if you add an amp. Bose speakers and other brands have different OHMS and it will make it hard to work together. Unless you find this converter.

When my Bose Hu crapped out on me I hooked up an alpine HU to the stock Bose speakers... The Bose speakers sound very good a low levels but when i turn it up, it's just not what i'm looking for... I will soon change out the speakers..

By the way I keep seeing that people think that the need the $60 convertor, but you can install a new HU to the Bose speakers WITHOUT WASTING your $60...

its easy to do. but the best thing to do is replace all ur speakers, get a nice amp, and run the speakers off that, it will make a whole hell of alot of difference in sound quality

and how much will that cost? I am interested. I have pioneer HU with bose speakers(or stock bose setup). When I turn my volume up, it just sucks, period.

well you could just run wires from the headunit outputs to the stock locations, and put in new speakers, let them run off the headunit. or add an amp, run all the rca's and power ground and remote wires to it, and hook up ur speakers that way. either method would work fine, just disconnect the bose harness from the amps and ur good to go

Yep, that's the way to do it.

It'll cost you quite a few bucks, but you can always buy Eclipse speakers for 150 bucks a pair and a decent amp for 300 bucks, plus wires (16 gauge) plus tax. That's what you need. At it will play good!
