Reset the ECU....better car?!

SEMI-LONG POST...

i havent done any performance mods on the max yet...only 18 inch rims so far..

I reset the ECU for the first time when my CEL pulled up 0306 = EGR BPT valve...

I reset it like 3 days ago, and the code hasnt popped up yet, i have driving it about 200 miles or less...The funny thing is that the car seams to run better! It starts up withing like 3-4 cranks, where as b4 i would take quite a few....the idle in the morning isnt up at 1400 in park b4 it warms up...it is not below 1000 at all times....

The only difference that seems to bother me is the idle in drive, and reverse.. it seams to idle at around 300-500, and the car vibrates a slight bit...kinda like it was gona die out on me...but never does...I have heard that this goes away after a while, and it is getting better SLOWLY, or maybe not at all...

Is this normal? what would explain this increase in performance? not spead but simply just quality of driving....

should i worry about the idle? if it doesnt go away within a few days should i adjust something? the vibration is quite anoying..but VERY faint....

Resetting the ECU only clears error codes it does absolutely nothing to engine operating parameters.

Your experiancing a plasebo (sp?) effect!

It's either something entirely different with your car or it's just a placebo effect. I noticed no differences at all after resetting my ECU.

naa, the idle is different.. and instead of a faster idle (roll) its depleted to almost nothing...

the idle in drive WAS effected, as far as speed, naa its not different...but the car does feel different.. like i said the idle is a lil low and causes the car to vibrate...

that aint no placebo effect.. a placebo is saying your gona take your car to the track cause you just gota oil change and you switched to synthetic...
