Tried to Install 350z Horns - failure - HELP
I saw a post here (which now I can't find) where someone bought and installed 350z horns on their Maxima. I hate the horns on my 2001 so I thought I give the new ones a try. I bought both the high & low note 350z horns and I tired to install both the 500hz & 400hz 350z horns and I can only get the 400hz horn to even make a note. The one horn sounds ghey by itself and I think it only works for the regular horn and not even for my security beep. Anyone know exactly how these wire up? I didn't think it would be this diffucult. Thanks.
Part #'s I got:
25620-CD000 = low
25610-AL500 = high

I dunno if this helps. I use Hella's Supertones on my car. But what I did was wire them with a relay. Basically pick up an regular 30 amp relay. What you want to do is wire the positive from your battery to the relay, relay to the positive on the horns, and from the negative on the horns to a ground. Then you find a positive signal for your stock horns, run that to the relay, and then to a ground. You would have to check the relay on exactly where to hook them up. Also you can wire up the horns in a series (where the negative on one horn goes to the positive on the other). Give that a try and see how it helps.

GaMax97GLE: One relay should do fine for you. You could use 2, but that could complicate the wiring, and make it more of a mess. I'm only running one relay for my hella's, and believe me, they are more than loud enough.
s0ber: lol, it's pretty funny. I had just enough weight in the back, and hit the throttle just right when Mr. Gone took that pic.
BTW, that semi-truck was uber fast! My 2nd gen beat him by like a .5 car lengths yo!!!!

make sure that each horn is grounded properly!!! I didn't use any relay to run my Super Hella horns and they seem to work well. I've had them for over a year now. I just connected the factory wires to the positive side and grounded each horn.

Eric - if you're still having troubles, I could probably take a look sometime and help you out.

I just went to Radio Shack and got some connectors to get the horns grounded. On the horns, there is a little tab where I guess the ground wire should be connected. I'll see if that works.
OK do I need to visit a car lot just to blow a horn? I assume the 350 doesn't have the typical Japanese sounding horn. Does it have a more Jerman like horn or American type sounding horn? No sound bite is needed, just curious.
