cleaning HID bulbs

I just took out my HID bulbs for a while, and i was wondering that since i have them out, should i clean them with something? It is necessary to do so? I would like to keep them in good condition, i dont see any dirt or anything but will like to have them clean. Is it even worth it? What the safest way or what do you do to clean the HID bulbs.

You don't need to clean anything, but down the road if you want to, use a lintless towel or a quality paper towel and rubbing alcohol.
