How can I tell if my system is Bose on a 98 maxima SE? Do they all say Bose on the head unit? The guy who sold me the car said it had a Bose system in it, but it doesnt' say that on the head unit. The reason I ask is that I have installed an aftermarket amp and kicker speakers, and assumed the outputs of the head unit were speaker level so I wired them to the amp as such. However, I'm getting unusual amounts of distortion at relatively mild volumes for a 50x4 amp through 90+ dbl kicker speakers. Can anyone help? Do i have to just replace the head unit?

The headunit would say Bose on the tape deck flip up lid thing...


also, the back deck speakers would say BOSE on them. You might want to check out the audio forums for a better response and info. good luck.
